Iced Milk, Rebellion, and Black Kids

Time to talk about all three.

Yesterday was an okay enough day at work, Anyone who needs hardware usually won't come to a family owned one so buisiness is slow. Especially now approaching the backend of summer. After work, I came home.

My graduation party was a few weeks ago, and I thought I had written out all my thank you cards. By some mistake i missed a small stack of them. About 15. And my mom told me she was extremely dissapointed in me and that she thought she taught me better manners. I can't stand how much she loves cards. I don't like cards. They have a kind of fake niceness about them. Like someone trying to seem nice just because they don't want you to think they aren't. I tell people thank you to there face, cards are just a formality. A world without greeting cards is a world I'd live in.

The comedian Jim Gaffigan has a funny joke about greeting cards.
"Well this looks like something I'd write!"

So here I am, doing thank you's, drinking iced milk (because I don't like thick milk) and listening to my "whiny indie kid music" as some people call it. I'm on a big kick of The Arcade Fire and Black Kids. Haha, bet you didn't think it'd be a band did you? Does that make someone racist if there first thought is african american people when they see black kids? No, I don't think so.

I couldn't decide what to put here for a video, so i have 2 for Tuesday!

  1. I can totally see your side of the 'greeting card' dilemma. I admit to sending them out occasionally but they can be headache at times too. I like iced-milk in the summer, congratulations on your graduation, and no, I didn't expect the 'black kids' in your title to be a band. lol. Enjoyed the post.
